Skijoring (a winter sport in which a person wearing skis is drawn over snow or ice by a horse) has grown quickly over the last few years. The sport has been around for centuries, and it has been part of the Steamboat Springs Winter Carnival since its early days over 100 years ago.
We have been working with a few of the event organizers to provide snowmaking equipment over the last few years. The volume of snow required is much smaller than even a small ski slope, and the snowmaking typically only takes a couple of weeks at most. This means their equipment is sitting for most of the year.
CHS Snowmakers is working with event organizers to provide rental program for portable snowmaking systems.
