Snowmaking Hose Repair

Do you have snowmaking hose in need of repair? Summer is the best time to get it repaired and tested and ready for next winter. CHS Snowmakers has reasonable rates and we have been doing this for 10+ years now.

Any brand hose can be repaired, but make sure it is worth fixing. Niedner hose tends to be the longest lasting and will still pass an 800 PSI pressure test, up to 18 years so far. Other brands around 10 to 15 years.

If your hose has been damaged by a snowcat, snowmobile, shovel, torch or other snowmakers tools, it can be fixed. If the outer jacket just splits for no reason, it is not going to pass a pressure test.

Tips to prepare your hose to send in.
1. Cut out the bad sections of the hose.
2. cut to your desired length.
3. include any good fittings with the hose, leave about 1″ of hose attached to the coupling.
4. package for shipment in a box or pallet.
5. contact us to give us a “heads up” for the hose.

We like to use old snowtube tubes cut into strips to band the hose. This works for up to 50′ hose, but tie wire also works.
